Oilseeds economy in the country is highly dynamic affecting both supply and value chain due to the changes in production environment and interdependent trade across the globe. Access to temporal and spatial data on area, production and productivity of oilseeds under different strata would provide clear guidance for planning effective interventions. ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research (IIOR) embarks on maintaining a repository of information on all aspects of oilseeds and vegetable oils in the country.. Enormous data on oilseeds situation such as area, production, productivity available in public domain in a scattered manner is comprehensively curated, stratified, and collated in an interactive and searchable mode, for the stakeholder to peruse the statistics precisely within a short time and draw useful inferences. This tool, Tilhantec-OSIS is an interactive Oilseeds Statistical Information System (OSIS) developed by ICAR-IIOR, Hyderabad in collaboration with Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation, Hyderabad. It provides the power of manoeuvrability of data as per the user requirement of comparative temporal (periods) and spatial (global, national and district level) analysis and trends. The OSIS, is a comprehensive multi-dimension analytics and visualisation database, developed using time series data on nine oilseed crops viz., groundnut, soybean, rapeseed and mustard, sesame, castor, sunflower, safflower, linseed and niger. Tilhantec-OSIS is one of its kind data platform, that facilitates search and fetch Global/national/state/district level information on area, production and yield statistics of the oilseed crops as per choice. Based on the query, tables and graphs will be generated and the same Tilhantec-OSIS is that the interactive graphs generated could be zoomed in and out for better understanding. This repository could provide guidance for framing informed policies. Further, the trend analysis presented in graphical manner aids in visualising the magnitude and trends that will be more appealing and easier to understand. The user can download the desired data for individual interpretation as per the requirement.
